This game is the only cricket game available on the Super Nintendo, and is only available in Europe and Oceania. Cricket has always been described as a really boring game, but it's had its moments. In the 19th century, England had the greatest cricketing legend ever, W.G. Grace, then came Geoff Boycott and that idiot David Gower, and from Pakistan, Imran Khan, and from the West Indies, Brian Lara. It's getting boring already so I'll return to the games review. As I said, this is the only cricket game available for the Super Nintendo, so did it make centuries for England (like David Gower thought he was doing), or did it, like Gower, play the shot long before and get a duck?
Graphics [7.5/10]:
The graphics at the crease are great, but once you hit the ball out of the area, the graphics become too small to see your players run or to field (and watch the ball).
Music and sound [8.6/10]:
There's a looping music track for the game itself which can get dreadfully catchy, but it can be turned off. The sounds are more realistic than... well, there's no other cricket game on the console! Listen to the duck when you get one!
Game play [8.7/10]:
There's eight teams to choose from - England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Each teams has its own stats (all the players are made-up so they're not real and you can't hurl abuse at these players) and skills so I think that the best team is Australia (sorry but England are just bad, even in this game!). The controls are responsive which is necessary if you're gonna hit the ball without getting a duck.
Challenge and replay [8.5/10]:
Cricket is renowned as being a little bit boring. Why? Because I went to Lord's Cricket Ground in London once, and I read a paper. This game, however, is the reverse of that, being quite playable and there's the options for either the Fast Match in which all the options are chosen for you (even the teams); the One-day match in which you choose the teams; the World series in which you have to beat all the other teams; and the Test Match in which there are unlimited overs but only two innings. There's a lot to be seen in this game, so this is one which should last for a reasonable amount of time in your collection.
Conclusion/Overall [8.4/10]:
The only cricket game for the Super Nintendo from the Aussie bush scores many runs with me mate! Bonza!
